Sizing Tips

Plant Pot Size Guide

Use this guide to find the perfect fit, ensuring your plants thrive while enhancing your living space. Our plant pots are designed for both functionality and aesthetic appeal.

Understanding Pot Sizes: Pot sizes are measured by their widest point diameter and listed in centimeters (cm). For example, a decorative pot advertised as 21cm refers to its external diameter, which is the widest part of the pot.

External Diameter: Refers to the widest part of the decorative pot.

Internal Diameter / Opening: Refers to the top opening of the pot, which determines the size of the nursery pot that will fit inside. For example, a decorative pot with a 21cm external diameter (widest part) might have an 18cm opening. Note: Internal Diameter and Opening are the same, referring to the top opening of the decorative pot.

When selecting a decorative pot, always check the internal diameter or opening to ensure your plant's nursery pot fits snugly. You can see the external diameter alongside each pot's opening / internal diameter on our product pages.

A photo guide is also available below for added clarity. When you hover over the external diameter size options on the product page, you will see the opening corresponding to that size.

Measuring Your Plant’s Nursery Pot: A nursery pot is the plastic container your plant originally comes in. Always check the opening size of the decorative pot to ensure a snug fit for your plant’s nursery pot.

Measure the top diameter of the nursery pot.

Match it with the opening / internal diameter of the decorative pot.

For example: A decorative pot with an 18cm opening can accommodate up to a 18cm nursery pot.
