PERFECT ADDITIONS:
Lady palms: The Quintessential Indoor Classic
The Rhapis excelsa, or Lady Palm, is widely regarded as one of the most adaptable and sophisticated indoor plants available. With its multi-stemmed, bamboo-like canes and lush, deep green, finger-like leaves, it adds instant architectural structure to any interior.
What sets the Lady Palms apart is their resilience. While many palms are finicky about humidity and light, the Rhapis excelsa is famously tolerant. It is the perfect choice for a London flat or a quiet corner in a Wimbledon terrace, effortlessly purifying the air while maintaining its polished, stately appearance.
Features & Benefits
Low Light Specialist: One of the few palms that maintains its deep green hue even in North-facing rooms or shaded corners.
Air Purifying: Naturally filters common household toxins, contributing to a cleaner, fresher living environment.
Slow & Steady Growth: Its slow growth means it will stay in its spot for years without outgrowing its decorative pot.
Hardy Texture: The thick, fibrous stems and leathery leaves make it far more durable than the more delicate Areca or Kentia palms.
- Nursery pot 18cm | 90-100cm | Decorative Pot Not Included
Care & Guidance
Light: It can handle low light, but it truly flourishes in bright, indirect sunshine. Avoid direct summer sun, which can cause the leaf tips to fade.
Watering: Water thoroughly once the top inch of soil has dried out. In winter, reduce watering as the plant enters its rest phase.
Feeding: Use a weak liquid fertiliser in spring and summer to support lush foliage.
Dusting: To keep the plant breathing clearly and looking its best, wipe the broad fronds occasionally with a damp cloth.
