Which Large Pot Material Should I Choose?
The material you choose at this size affects far more than appearance. Lightweight Large ceramic and metal pots, including the gold and silver finishes in the Rowen and Fabio ranges, bring visual scale without excessive weight, making them easier to reposition. Heavy-weight concrete and cement pots offer the ultimate anchor for tall, top-heavy palms and indoor trees that need real stability at the base. Oversized handmade ceramics, including the Charlotte and Loren collections, bring deep glazes and textured, gallery-style finishes that suit a genuine statement plant.
If your plant is currently in a 19cm or 27cm nursery pot, it’s time to move up to our Large Plant Pots collection. You should always aim for a decorative pot that is at least 1–3cm wider than the plant’s current nursery pot. This provides enough space for air circulation and makes it easier to tuck in a flexible pot liner to catch excess water.
Will a large pot be too heavy to move?
Size often comes with weight, especially with our concrete and ceramic options. If you like to rearrange your furniture, we recommend our Large metal pots, which offer the same grand scale without the heavy lift. For the heaviest specimens, place the pot on a rolling plant caddy before adding the plant, a pro tip from our London studio.
